The EI-120 automatic lamination stacking machine inserts E & I silicon steel laminations into transformer coil bobbins under PLC control. Positioning accuracy is ±0.02 mm and stacking accuracy ±0.1 mm, at cycle rates up to 250 stacks per minute, with servo-driven sheet feed, Mitsubishi PLC control and a touch screen interface. It is the configuration we recommend for the 1000-2000 VA band of industrial power and control transformers.
Most machine listings tell you what a machine can do. Fewer tell you when not to buy it. For a capital item that will sit on your floor for a decade, the second question matters more, so here is an honest selection guide for the EI-120.
Choose the EI-120 if your core programme sits in the 1000-2000 VA band, you run more than one core size and want them on one platform, and stack consistency has become a customer complaint, an inspection finding, or a bottleneck behind your winding line. This is the profile the machine was sized for.
Choose a smaller frame if your volume is concentrated at 10-100 VA cores. The EI-120 will run them, but a smaller model in the series indexes faster on short stacks and costs less to own. Buying oversized capacity is a common and expensive mistake.
Choose a larger frame if you regularly exceed 2000 VA or need a bobbin window well beyond 36 mm. The EI-150 and above were built for that band, and forcing a large core onto a mid-size frame costs you cycle time on every piece.
Do not buy any automatic stacker if your monthly volume is very low and your core count changes every week. Hand-crank units remain economical at that scale - we make those too, and will tell you so rather than sell you capacity you will not use.
✅ A Repeatable Process, Not a Fast Operator - ±0.1 mm stack accuracy and ±0.02 mm positioning hold the effective air gap where the design put it, shift after shift.
✅ One Platform Across Your Range - A stored recipe per core size means changeover is a recall, not a re-setup. Mixed catalogues stop being a scheduling problem.
✅ Traceable Output - The PLC counts every lamination and records the cycle, so a stack can be tied to the run that produced it.
✅ Protection for Thin Steel - Gentle feed and controlled insertion preserve the insulation coating on 0.3 mm sheet, which is where eddy-current loss is decided.
✅ Jam Detection as Standard - The cycle stops on a misfeed before laminations are crushed or tooling is marked.
✅ CE Certified Build - High-strength steel frame, dual grounding, overload and short-circuit protection, emergency stop and safety guarding.

Large industrial power transformers, three-phase control units built around single-phase EI cores, industrial power supplies, welding power sources and general heavy-duty isolation transformers in the 1000-2000 VA band. CRGO and CRNGO grades are both supported at 0.3 mm, 0.35 mm and 0.5 mm thickness, with cardboard or plastic bobbins. Runs standalone or inline with winding and varnishing.
Send us your core sizes, stack counts and monthly volume. We will confirm the frame size, quote the recipe set, and tell you if a different model in the EI-19 to EI-300 series fits better. Delivery is 1-15 working days for standard configurations, with professional after-sales technical support and a 12-month warranty. We are a direct manufacturer with CE certified equipment, serving customers including GE Vernova and Eaton (USA) as well as CATL and Chint Electric, and exporting to more than 20 countries and regions.
