The EI-28 automatic lamination stacking machine is built for the production environment where small transformer cores are made: high volumes, thin laminations, and zero tolerance for inconsistent stacking. Designed for EI-28 silicon steel laminations, it feeds E-type and I-type sheets alternately into pre-wound bobbins under closed-loop PLC control, completing interleaved stacking at up to 250 stacks per minute with stacking accuracy of plus or minus 0.1 mm and positioning accuracy of plus or minus 0.02 mm. It is the practical answer for manufacturers producing 1-5 VA signal, relay, and small power transformers in production quantities.
Automation pays back fastest where volumes are highest — and small transformer cores are almost always produced in the largest quantities. A single production line of EI-28 cores can consume tens of thousands of laminations per day, and every one of them is too thin and too small to be placed reliably by hand at speed. Manual stacking on small cores introduces exactly the defects that small transformers are least able to tolerate: skewed sheets, variable air gaps, and loose stacking that degrade signal integrity and efficiency. This machine removes the human bottleneck entirely. The pneumatic feeding mechanism separates and places each lamination identically, cycle after cycle, so the ten-thousandth core matches the first — and the operator supervises the line instead of feeding it.

✅ Identical Cycles, Identical Cores – The closed-loop PLC control executes the same feeding, insertion, and counting sequence on every cycle. Core-to-core variation in stacking quality — the hidden cost of manual production — is engineered out rather than inspected out.
✅ Recipe Storage on PLC Touch Screen – Lamination count, stacking speed, and dwell time are saved per batch on the 7-inch HMI. Switching between different EI-28 core heights and lamination counts takes under 30 seconds, so high-mix production runs stay efficient.
✅ Photoelectric Counting with Auto-Stop – A high-speed photoelectric sensor counts and verifies every lamination; a misfeed or jam stops the machine within 0.5 seconds. On high-volume small-core lines, this keeps scrap rate below 0.3 percent across entire shifts.
✅ Full Electrical Protection for Uptime – AC220V overload protection, DC24V short-circuit protection, dual grounding, and an emergency stop button protect continuous mass-production operation.
✅ Precision Feeding for Small Sheets – EI-28 laminations are the smallest and thinnest in the standard EI range, and the most easily damaged. The dedicated feeding magazine, separator, and insertion dies are dimensioned specifically for EI-28 sheets, feeding them without edge damage, double-picks, or skew.
✅ CRGO and CRNGO Dual Compatibility – The feeding mechanism handles both grain-oriented and non-oriented silicon steel from 0.3 mm to 0.5 mm thickness, so material can be selected per project for signal performance or cost.
✅ Interleaved Stacking for Signal Integrity – The one-by-one E and I interleaved pattern minimizes air gaps and produces uniform flux distribution — critical in signal and pulse transformers where consistency directly affects electrical performance.
The EI-28 lamination stacking machine is used in the production of:
• Signal and pulse transformers for communication and network equipment
• Relay and interface transformers for industrial control panels
• Small power transformers for chargers, adapters, and consumer electronics
• PCB-mount transformers for metering and instrumentation
• Specialty electromagnetic components requiring EI-28 core stacking
Custom tooling for other EI sizes (EI-28 through EI-133) is available on request, so production can cover the full EI range on one platform.
